SMRU aerial surveys of pup production at North Rona show that fewer pups are born there now than in the past. This contrasts strongly with other colonies, such as that at the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth.
What is causing these changes?
Our task is to study seal breeding success annually and over the long term and find out what factors contribute to the variation we see.
